There's no point coming to Japan without trying Japanese food! ^ ^
Went for lunch. Apparently they only serve ramen and rice for lunch. For a bit over 1000 yen I was served the weirdest meal combination to date: -Beef Shouyu Ramen -Rice -Salad -Stir fried (shoyu?)chicken -kimchi...? My friend (who took a rice set) commented, each one is delicious on it's own, but the whole thing just doesn't match. Yeah exactly. I love ramen and I love kimchi but that doesn't mean I want to have them together. To be really honest I don't even think any one of those dishes shone through. None of them were good enough for me to go eat them again. The positives are the shop is really nice, clean and comfy, 100% halal, with praying space and nice customer service. You could feel that the owners put lots of effort into the shop unlike some other really famous halal ramen restaurants that are greasy and couldn't care less about the customers. But in the end the combination just doesn't work for me. I hope they will rethink the Read more...
Few people knows this place but personally I think this a must try halal place. Alcohol is served here but everything else is halal. Beef okonomiyaki is around ¥1500, highly recommended.
The presentation looks not really appealing. But of all the kebabs I've tasted so far, this one has the juiciest meat. There are other more tasty kebabs for sure but most are a bit dry. This one isn't. If only this restaurant is in Tokyo, I think I would have visited it quite frequently.
We ate kebab which was nice. I just hoped there were more salad or vege to go with the dish so that it won't look too simple. Anyway it was nice enough for me to order a take out.
I have eaten a few times at Manhattan Fish Market. But today I had a bizarre and unpleasant experience. I ordered two sets of meals at first but then added another set since they were not enough. And then I called the waiter again to order a milkshake for the kids. When the waiter came to take that order she said something that really doesn't make sense from a customer point or even from a business point. She said something like "can this be the last order?" I was taken aback but of course I nodded. Why would you ask your customers that?? The question she should have asked was "would you like to add a dessert also?" or something else to encourage the customers to spend more money. Instead she made me feel like I harassed her by adding orders two times. Needless to say I was fumed by that question. They don't have to worry because I think that will be my LAST ORDER there.
I don't know much about premium Wahgyu meat but of all 3 Yakiniku I've tried so far, this one is by far the best. And probably the most expensive. But if you love food.. IT'S. WORTH IT. FOR. EVERY. SINGLE. YEN. XD
So I've been here last week. It was quite cheap with 2 sets cost only about 5-6000yen. However I was not satisfied with the meat. It was not as gorgeous looking nor as delicious as other yakiniku. The service was super nice though. The owner even volunteered to send us by car to the nearest station which was a great walking distance. Overall for the price I think it was a fair value. But if you are looking for really good Wahgyu (and you don't mind paying more) I suggest you try Tanden Yoyogi in Tokyo. It's the best I've tried so far.
It's quite cheap. 4500 yen per set including bottomless drinks, soup, salad, ice cream and rice. If I knew this place existed earlier I would probably have came here many times already. Soup was delicious and so does the sauce. Nice place, comfortable and relatively spacious. And nice staffs. Highly recommended!
My third time here I think. There's so many things I love about this shop. Nice environment. Not crowded. Nice praying space. Nice servers (who can't speak English at all :). And of course delicious food. I especially love the spicy ramen though I wish there's more noodle in that big bowl there. The fried food were a little bit oily this time but overall is still delicious. Will come again for more XD
