As a halal-alternative, one can opt for vegetarian food while in Taiwan. There are a few famous pay-per-weight vegetarian buffet restaurant chains around Taipei. QuanGuo offers around 60 different dishes to choose from. Pretty delicious, try their five-grain rice too.

HuaXin street is also known as "Little Myanmar Street" of Taipei, where you can get Burmese-style snacks. The milk tea, egg parata, and naan with chick-peas are really unique and very tasty. The owners are Chinese Muslims and the cafe is halal-certified. Best for breakfast or evening tea though they are open all day long.
