Named after the American Record Producer and Rapper, 88 Keys opened up its doors a little more than 2 months ago in the hip and happening area of Essendon. This side of town is really booming with specialty coffee cafes and breakfast joints on almost every corner of each street. Nevertheless, 88 keys stays true to its name and style it has developed being remotely different to the typical new age cafes being opened up almost every week in Melbourne (next door Captain Grey is one example).
On first visit, the brothers who run this place are very welcoming and are constantly checking in on you making sure you walk out a very happy customer. The space has been fitted out with a casual, relaxing vibe to it. With a couple of bean bags scattered at the back, they've made it a space you can come chill out with some friends and even family.
